Alexandra Pianelli

Alexandra Pianelli graduated from the Decorative Arts School in Strasbourg. Her art focuses on notions of work and play, she enjoys DIY and cheerfully describes herself as a “Swiss Army Penknife”. She uses a documentary approach in which reality meets fiction, and, in the form of a game, strives to connect levels of reality that are far apart. For several years she has been making films in her place of work where we see her both “at work” and “in the process of” making a film about a “job just to pay the bills” (or, vice versa, choosing a job that pays the bills in order to make a film about it), and, as an artist, this allows her not to have to divide her time between earning a living and creating her art.
