Graduation films from the HEAD

The Cinema Faculty of the HEAD – Genève is a site for teaching, creation and research devoted to innovative cinematographic forms in tune with the world. It aims to inspire the exploration of plural writings and aesthetics, encouraging crossovers between genres and dialogue with contemporary art. The faculty is open to a wide range of film genres from documentary to fiction, from installations to virtual images. This creative freedom can roam the entire world and examine its challenges: accompanied by acclaimed filmmakers, the students make movies every year, often in far-off places, and are thus confronted with different realities and otherness. One of the specificities of this course is to offer teaching based on an interweaving of cinematographic practices and theoretical knowledge (the aesthetics, politics and economics of cinema). During their training, the students make a number of films, learning to master the tools and techniques of contemporary cinema and discovering the new methods of production and distribution.
