“I respect the audience's intelligence a lot, and that's why I don't try to go for the lowest common denominator.” This year, Spike Lee is the festival’s jury president, and it seems that Tënk shares his point of view about films and their audiences… Documentary filmmaking now takes its rightful place in the Cannes festival selections, with around twenty documentaries a year, recompensed since 2015 with the Golden Eye award. To celebrate the 74th edition of the festival, we’re showing 3 films that have graced the red carpet for the ACID Selection ("Cassandro El Exotico!"), Directors’ Fortnight (“Jodorowsky's Dune”) and the Official Selection (“Stop the Pounding Heart”).
