Documentary filmmaker Claire Juge perfected her art with her professional Master’s degree “Métiers du film documentaire” at the University of Aix-Marseille. During her training, she made her first short documentary “Parades”. Selected for several festivals in France and Germany, it won the Prix de la Presse at the Un Poing, c’est Court Festival. She went on to make commissioned documentaries in fields as diverse as architecture, wax fabric and the voodoo legacy in Benin, and in 2019, Juge also made two creative documentaries, “Quintette” and “À Travers Jann”. Filming the character and work of the dancer and choreographer Jann Gallois (Compagnie BurnOut), the two films explore in different ways the relationship with the body in one’s private life and in the work of a dancer. “À Travers Jann” was pre-selected for the 2020 Prix Unifrance for Best Short.
