Marie-Claude Treilhou is a French director. After graduating in philosophy, she began by doing a series of odd jobs: from cashier to investigator to usherette in a pornographic cinema. This experience inspired her to make her first feature film in 1980: "Simone Barbès ou La Vertu", which was acclaimed by the critics. The director likes to describe everyday life with tenderness and fantasy. In 1982, she won the Jean Vigo prize for her short film "Lourdes, l'hiver". In 1991, she called upon professional actors for the first time with "Le Jour des rois", in which she directed Danielle Darrieux, Paulette Dubost and Micheline Presle. At the same time, Marie-Claude Treilhou directed documentaries on ordinary people with "Il était une fois la télé" (1985), "Métamorphoses du cœur" (2004) or "Couleurs d'orchestre" (2008) on the Paris Symphony Orchestra.
