Mattia Colombo earned a BFA in Painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Firenze in 2007 and a MFA in Documentary Filmmaking from IED Venezia in 2009. His first short documentary film "Il Velo", enchanted tale about a little nuns community, has been selected in several international festivals such as Visions du Réel (Nyon), EIFF Edinburgh, AFI Silverdocs Discovery (Washington), or XI Circuito Off (Venice), where it won Best Short film Award. His next film, "Il Pensiero della mano", is a visual poem on life that flows among artisans, on passion, on the future of work. "Il Desiderio", is an experiment and a proof of resistance: it has been thought, filmed and edited in five days, on Basilicata mountains, during an international workshop with the director Michelangelo Frammartino. His first feature documentary was "Il Passo", followed by "Trees That Walk". His latest film, "Voglio dormire con te", premiered at Cinéma du Réel, Paris.
