Alberto Diana (born in Sardinia in 1989) obtained a Master’s degree in Creative documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona after graduating in Humanities from the University of Cagliari. He worked as an assistant to José Luis Guerin on "The Academy of Muses" (Locarno Film Festival 2015). His short documentary "The Contestant" (2016) was screened at Message to Man in Saint Petersburg and other international film festivals. In 2017 he participated in the “Re-framing Home Movies” art residence programme promoted by three Italian home movie archives and the Italian Society of Authors, where he made his short film "Family and Fatherland". In 2019, his latest feature documentary "Fango Rosso" (Red Mud) was selected in competition at the 37th edition of the Torino Film Festival. He also works for the selection committee of the Festival dei Popoli (Florence) and IsReal – Festival di Cinema del Reale (Nuoro, Italy). He is currently developing the script for the feature-length drama "Intra Montes".
