Born in 1961, Denis Darzacq lives and works in Paris. After studying in the video section, he graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in 1986. He began photography by following the French rock scene and became a still photographer during the shooting of several short films (Satyajit Ray, Jacques Rivette, Chantal Ackerman, etc.). From 1989, he regularly worked as a photographer with the French daily newspaper Libération, and more generally with the national press. He became a member of Agence VU’ in 1997. As from 1995, his photographic work brought him to concentrate on interactions between individuals, from minority groups, with society, be they social or ethnic. Since 2014, these issues have brought new developments by the filmmaker (‘The Visit - Louvre Museum’, 2016, ‘Comme un Seul Homme’, 2014, ‘Sisyphe’, 2019) and the creation of video installations (‘La Ronde’ 2017 and ‘Rise’ 2019).
