Julien Faraut

Julien Faraut (1978) is a french documentary filmmaker from France. After studying history, he has worked for the 'Institut national du sport in Paris', where he supervises a collection of 16mm films. Using these collections, Faraut makes his own visual essays, combining sport history and documentary art. He directed in 2013 his first feature documentary, about Chris Marker, "Regard neuf sur Olympia 52", then, in 2018, "In the Realm of Perfection", selected at Berlin Forum (Audience Award) and at Cinéma du réel.
