“Lost Land” seeks to strip down to the bare truth to let the filmmaker do his job, namely unearth the resistance of the victims of forgotten, yet ongoing conflicts. The grainy texture of black and white Super 8 mixed with the vibration of their voices convey the suffering and confinement of these forgotten people, forced to settle through violence. The film becomes a disturbing reflection, carried by the narrative thrust of each sensitive story, and by the entrancing, finely-hewed soundtrack.
