The film is swathed in summer: the body becomes estranged and cumbersome; the sea is blind; the azure suffocating. Time goes by far too slowly, far too emptily, in this dry hibernation. Life seems as distant as a childhood summer. A glimmering sensation of bereavement - overcome only by what life creates between a mother and her daughter.
Disturbing and organic enough to burn, this film is akin to melancholic youth, and rebellious enough to reunite conflict and recognition - and to defy death.
